Description:

John Muir Birthday hike on the beach just few miles north of the Florence. Please be ready for brisk, long walk on the sand and wading of Sutton Creek and Berry Creek. Forecast: Mostly sunny, Low 50°F, light N wind.
After the hike some of us will stop at seafood restaurant north of Florence. Please join us.

Take a course in good water and air; and in the eternal youth of Nature you may renew your own. Go quietly, alone; no harm will befall you.

Trip Report

We hoped for sunshine but no luck.
Persistent northern wind was light, and tide was low when we started hiking north at 9:20AM. Our fast group waded through Sutton Creak and then Berry Creek, and continued north reaching Hidden Cove at 11:30AM
After short exploration of rocky beach formations we headed back south, crossed again both swift creeks and finished our 10.2 miles hike at 2PM.
Group lunch at Chen's Family Dish was fantastic.
