Description:

Meet at Alton Baker Park, near the restroom building. We are celebrating International Women's Day by sharing stories about women who were Nobel Laureates in various fields. Please pick one and educate the rest of us: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_female_Nobel_laureates. We will start by exploring the Nobel Peace Prize area where 3 women are recognized. Then we will walk over to the university and acknowledge other "local" women, perhaps even someone you knew! And then return back to Alton Baker by noon. Men are welcome.

Trip Report

The homework assignment to celebrate International Women's Day was to select a woman Nobel laureate in any field and educate the rest of us about her. It was really interesting to learn about honored women in various fields including the peace prize (3), literature, and biology. Notable local women were also acknowledged. We started at the Nobel Peace monument in Alton Baker Park and then meandered through the university and returned along the river path.
