Description:

For the first Wednesday evening of the summer season we will be working to remove obstacles created as part of an illict trail in Amazon Headwaters park. We will deconstruct trail features instead of creating them. We will also clean the Martin Street Trailhead kiosk.

Meet at the end of Center Way, just East past the Martin Street Trailhead.

Trip Report

Our group met Dev for a project that was a nice change of pace. Instead of building or repairing trail features we got to deconstruct an illicit trail. Seemingly a small group had recently constructed, without approval of the City, a mountain bike trail while obliterating a neighborhood hiking trail.
We broke into small groups of 2 or 3 people taking apart individual features. We spread the soil from the built features back to where it had been removed from. Then, we spread brush and other debris. After a couple of hours of good progress we called it a day an headed back to the vehicles for snacks.
