Description:

Look for us by my car a row or two down from the fee box. Sunset is 8:52 and the moonrise is 9:02.I plan to take trail 17 and 4 to catch the main trail to the summit. We will take the main trail (#1) back to the parking lot. Email me at jbjacobsen@comcast.net if you have questions.

Trip Report

The sunset sky was brilliant with color. The moon briefly appeared above the foothills around 9:10pm before it was obscured by low clouds. It was a stellar way to celebrate the 50h anniversary rocket launch of the mission to the moon. Saturn V's exact moment of take-off: 9:32am on July 16, 1969.
