Description:
This hike will be 87th anniversary of placing a brass plaque on Macduff Mt to honor Nelson Macduff, a former forest service supervisor and Obsidian member. The trail is a beautifully engineered trail up a steep ridge through a shaded forest floor to the peak with bountiful wildflowers and the great views of Sawtooth Ridge and a clear view on the summit of the Oregon Cascades from Mt Hood to Diamond Peak. It is a rough gravel road to the trailhead. If you don’t know Macduff’s location, see the July 2012 trip report on The Report Page.
