Description:

The tidbits mountain trail winds through old growth forest and amazing vistas. At the top are the cornerstones of an old fire lookout. The views of the surrounding hills and mountains are stunning. The best part is it’s above Blue River Reservoir so not a long drive. Drivers be aware that there is 8 miles of gravel road. I checked the road out and it had been graded and graveled last year or so has only a few potholes.

Trip Report

The day was just about perfect. They had re-graveled the road to Tidbits trailhead so not many pot holes to dodge around. Two new hikers joined us and fit in splendidly. Unless you have a 4 wheel drive I would recommend parking at the bottom of the spur rd to the trail head. The forest was filled with still blooming rhododendrons and other wild flowers. I would also recommend poles for the narrow and at time steep trail. Stunning vista's on top where we had a long lunch.
