Description:

(FYI: This was from your last Brice Trip including Trestle falls)

Brice Creek is a beautiful drop and pool creek with fast running water this time of year. Trestle Falls, upper and lower, are on a side loop trail at the beginning of the hike. This is where most of the elevation gain will be.Wild flowers should be going strong. The loop trail brings us back to the main trial and we continue on along the creek for the rest of the hike. This is a car shuttle. We will leave a car at the bottom to carry drivers back to the top.

Trip Report

Brice Creek has taken a beating from winter snows and spring rains. The creek is beautiful and blue. Clear enough to see the bottom and small trout swimming around. I stopped counting the number of downed trees. Too many to count. The upper Falls trail is washed out in many places and downed trees have not been cleared. Reported by two young guys who made the loop. The lower falls trail cleared at the beginning with the upper part as yet uncleared is do able. The falls are pretty. The drainage below the falls is crammed woody debris. The upper part of the main trail, where we started has 3 big trees down. All but 1 was easy to negotiate. The big old growth gave you enough room to crawl under. Lunch along the creek was enjoyed by all. My thanks to Jean Harris for being the second car for the shuttle.
