Trip Report

We parked at the base of Cape Perpetua crossed the highway and started our hike at Devils Churn. We then spent a perfect day exploring everything the area has to offer from tide pools to beaches. We cross through the tunnel after watching Thor’s Well fill with the in coming tide. There was not enough wave pressure to get the blow hole working. Hiking up to the visitor center we spent some time there enjoying a good exhibit on Native American that lived on the area. Then on to giant Sitka. We arrived back at the car in mid afternoon. Should have done the climb of the Cape first. Too much sun so we drove to the top. Great views. Joanna had binoculars with the tide in all the way the blow hole was working. Stopped at Strawberry Hill on the way back lots of seals in the water. Stopped to get coffee at Florence and home.
