Description:

Canceled because of no sign ups. This is one of my favorite hikes. The North Bank Habitat is near Roseburg, exit 135, Wilbur, then on North Bank Rd to the West Entrance. The drive takes around 1 hour and 15 minutes. The up and down loop hike has rolling—some steep & challenging hills— up to and along the ridgeline with oak savannas, meadows, and views of the Umpqua River. Hopefully the fallen trees have been removed since April 13 when I hiked it last. One will need to watch for poison oak. Expect a few muddy sports but it might be dryer than usual. We should start hiking around 10:00 and complete the hike around 3:00. It will be a steady moderate pace with a late lunch so bring some snacks or two lunches. The elevation gain is like doing Mt. Pisgah twice.
