Trip Report

Snow conditions were good....2 feet of packed snow & 6 to 12 inches of new snow....The drive up was difficult because of inclement weather but both cars had "all wheel" drive.....The right hand turn into Salt Creek snow park is 1 mile past the tunnel....The outhouse there is reasonably clean..... Be sure to park at the children's snow park, NOT at the area before the bridge....State police are writing parking tickets.....Solitude was good and the insulating snow made for a peaceful hike....BEWARE of cliffs....To get to the trail head hikers must cross the bridge, I walk right down the middle....This forces cars to stop for you....Too often cars keep going making a dangerous cognition because there is only a few inches of clearance between the car/hiker/railing ....Thx
