Description:

Weyerhaeuser Haul Rd: Wallace Creek to Hills Creek. Yes, an afternoon hike! This is a lovely hike on a wide parially paved old logging road. It will be easy to socially distance.

Participants will manage their own transportation. Obsidian protocols for social distancing will be observed on the hike/ride. Refer to main website page for information.

Trip Report

Our hike included two people on their first Obsidian hike. The group of regulars answered lots of questions and did a great job making them feel comfortable and included. Meeting behind the McDonalds at the intersection of Bob Straub, Hwy 126 and Main street left us with only a five mile drive to the trail head. The trail head was really the starting place at the intersection of Wallace Creek Rd and the old Weyerhauser Haul Rd. The weather cooperated with only a few sprinkles at the beginning and the end. We did the haul road from Wallace Creek to Hills Creek Rd. It has lovely views of the Jasper valley.
