Description:

Close to Eugene. This primarily is a hike but feel free to bring binoculars. We will hike both the Woodpecker and Mill Pond trails. We will stop at the main office area for lunch and to checker the feeders. This is a mixed forest so we may get some color

Trip Report

Great fall hike. I think we all thought we would see more fall color but that was not to be. It was very quite only saw 3 other hikers while we were there. Stopped at headquarters for snack. The ones who walked down to the gazebo were treated to Cedar Waxwings and Bluebirds. Another surprise, hunting is allowed on refuge. I did not see a goose or swan anywhere so it must have been elk or deer. We saw a few elk prints but no animals or hunters were seen or heard.
