Description:

Great fall hike that will start just north of Clear Lake at McKenzie River Trail north trailhead. We'll head to the lake then circle around it, find a nice spot for lunch. The concessions at the resort are not open. It might be icy on the trail, temperatures really dipping this weekend. Participants will manage their own transportation. Obsidian protocols for social distancing will be observed on the hike. Refer to main website page for information

Trip Report

A cold but gorgeous sunny day! 30 degree start to our hike! We soon warmed up and everyone enjoyed the beautiful crisp clean air and pristine lake. Starting from the North McKenzie trail head, headed counter clockwise around the lake which put us in a great spot for a sunny lunch break. Marguerite found a new friend, in the form of a cute little snake. Good times with a great group!
