Trip Report

Our group drove to Lorene Valley where, in so far most beautiful weather of December 2020, meet with landowner Linda Carnine.
During introduction we learned that Linda and her husband Doug bought this property to create a conservation easement and improve wildlife corridor between adjacent farmlands. With help of McKenzie River Trust, native American groups, and volunteers they are managing and restoring Andrew Reasoner Wildlife Preserve.
In sunny 45°F we hiked through grassland, oak savanna and rolling hills covered with white and black oaks, Douglass fir, valley pines, madrones, coastal redwoods, spruce, and chinquapin. Owners welcome all visitors to a 294 acres Conservation Easement accessible from 84731 Lorane Highway.
