Description:

For this, the first trail maintenance outing of 2021 we will be working to clear drainage ditches and culverts as well as do some trailside brushing.

Meet at the Fox Hollow Trailhead, the gravel parking lot across Fox Hollow Road from the Cascade Raptor Center.

Trip Report

Our group met up for about as leisurely of a trail maintenance that I can remember. We hiked into Amazon Headwaters Park checking the drainage ditches as we went, overall the trail is in very good condition. We split into 2 groups at the trail junction near Dillard Road with Janet and Pat returning along the lower trail and the rest of our group lightly cleaning the drainage ditches and culverts on our way back to the trailhead. At the trailhead we found that Clara had cleaned the kiosk and was busy cutting back the blackberries from around it.

Back at the trailhead we all enjoyed some of Janet persimmon bread. Oliver especially enjoyed the bread impressively eating 2 huge slices.
