For this outing we will get the main trail ready for fall by cleaning the summit steps and removing leaves from the main trail.

Meet at the main Willamette Trailhead parking lot, the paved lot on Willamette Street.

Trip Report

Our group of volunteers met up at the Main Spencer Butte parking lot in the mist for an eerie start. We grabbed our garden hoes, backpack leaf blowers, and leaf rakes and hiked up the Butte. We enjoyed beautiful views above the clouds from the summit of the Butte. We worked our way back down from the summit risking sore backs and tennis elbow scraping gravel off the summit steps. After cleaning the steps we raked and blew leaves off of the trail. Special thanks go to Dan for lugging a backpack leaf blower up and down the Butte and Clara for immaculately cleaning the trailhead steps and kiosk.
