For this outing we will plant over 250 salvaged plants around the main trailhead parking lot.

Trip Report

For this month's outing we met Emily Steele for our planting project at the main Spencer Butte Trailhead. The day was overcast with a slight breeze and the odd short-lived shower. Our group of volunteers made short work of planting the sword ferns and we all learned that transplanting Oregon Grape is an entirely different process that we'll let a contractor finish. We also learned that if a tree falls in the forest Obsidians will be there to hear it as we heard a large pine snag fall along the West Trail while we were working.
Special thanks go to Clara for cleaning the trailhead kiosk, steps, and parking lot and to Janet for picking up litter along the main trail and parking lot.
