Description:

Departure location Pisgah Public Market in Pleasant Hill - 35851 Hwy 58. Take the Oakridge exit off of I-5. After 4 miles watch for the Mall on your left after the 76 gas station. Park in the middle of the parking lot by the light pole.

The Tire Mountain Trail is part of the Eugene to Pacific Crest Trail series. We will encounter beautiful spring wildflowers, amazing vistas and old growth forest.

Trip Report

Tire Mountain has become one of my favorite early summer hikes. I can see why people refer to it as the "other Iron Mountain" for wildflowers. The variety in the fields of blooming wildflowers was amazing to all. The skies were clear enough to see all Three Sisters, Mount Bachelor and Diamond Peak. The part of the trail through old growth forest was the prettiest green many had seen. We hiked to the trail spur that leads to Tire Mountain. Because of the huge and numerous trees on the trail we opted to not do the .6 mile trek to the top.
