Description:

We will focus on mowing - hopefully we can get both lawn mowers and the wheeled string trimmer going on that. I'll bring my DR to start mowing the area behind the storage building, but the area needs downed limbs and stuff cleared out first - lot of poison oak back there, so beware. There are a number of other things to do if the turnout warrants it.

Trip Report

In the trip report for the April 1st Grounds work party I wrote, "Wow, it is amazing what a dozen folks can do in three hours!" You know what, 15 folks can do even more! We mowed everything in sight including the parking area and the defensible spaces above and to the south of the Lodge; cleared and leveled the disturbed area along the new chain link fence; cleaned all the disturbed areas from the brush hog work a couple weeks ago; weeded, cleaned and mulched planting beds; removed some grass from the checkermallow reserves to give them a little breathing room; and last but most definitely not least, we removed the old entry drive gate, thanks to Brad Bennett and Jim Dinn's incredible efforts and problem solving. Thanks to Janet for refreshments. Thanks to all for the hard work and pleasant social interaction.
