Description:

Cool off with a hike in old growth forest along the beautiful McKenzie River. This will be a moderately fast paced hike. Note - There are a few sections of the trail that are narrow with fairly steep drop offs.

Trip Report

We parked at Buck Bridge also known as Frissel Boat Launch. There is always plenty of parking. To find the parking area watch for the boat launch sign on your right, pointing to the road on the left. This right after you cross Scott Creek (highway sign) and is a couple of miles past Belknap Springs. This is where the trail crosses to the North side of the river and leaves the highway side. Most of the trail is right along the river and is refreshing in the old grown forest. We all had our trackers on and felt that it was more like 14 miles round trip.
