Description:

We will meet at the Pisgah Public Market in Pleasant Hill. Many of you may have done Tire Mountain from the other side and wondered where the rest of the trail went. Here's you chance to find out. Starting from the west we will be just a few steps away from another part of the E2C--Winberry Divide.
Scouted the trail on 7/12. The Forest Service has completed a new bridge which Carla and I crossed. Poles came in handy in some parts of the trail. This is mainly a biking trail and some switch-back turns can be steep and slippery.

Trip Report

There was some apprehension about heat and smoke but things were improved from the last few days. It was still warm and but the humidity along this green trail seemed was noticeable. We crossed over the newly complete footbridge and headed to our destination, the junction with trail to the top of Tire Mountain. Part of the group went up this trail. Blowdowns have made a mess of this trail which is likely to be abandon. This group made it up to the saddle before abandoning the effort.
A good, slightly cooler, less smokey day with some Obsidians who are always a pleasure to hike with.
