Description:

Trip CHANGED....due to hazardous AQI levels in the Cascades near Salt Creek Falls and Vivian Lake.
CHANGED to Mary's Peak. All participants below have been emailed.

New destination described as: Mary's Peak East Trailhead. It is 6.1 RT partial loop trail, 1560 elevation gain. I have hiked this trail out and back, but not the loop part, so we'll call it a partial 'explora'....

$5.00 parking fee (is not covered by NW Pass to my knowledge)

Trip Report

Due to high smoke levels near Vivian Lake, trip was changed to Mary's Peak, the East Ridge Trail. We began at Conner's Camp and hiked via the Tie trail to the peak where all enjoyed clear views and beautiful weather while eating lunch.

The original plan was a 6.1 mile 1560 ft el gain, but after lunch, we all decided to add the Summit Loop at the top, for a total trail length of 8.5 miles and 2,044 el gain.
A wonderful group and gorgeous day, many stopped in Monroe after for refreshments.
