Description:

Meet at Pisgah Public Market in Pleasant Hill – Take the Oakridge exit off of I-5. After 4 miles watch for the mall on your left after the 76 gas station. Park in the middle of the parking lot by the light pole.
Larison Creek is a great winter hike that is not in town. The trail head is a few miles past Oakridge on Hills Creek Reservoir. We follow a small river inlet along the reservoir and then up the river. We will stop for lunch at the “summer swimming hole

Trip Report

We all met in Pleasant Hill at the Pisgah Public Market area. The trail head had plenty of parking and was easy to find. You could not have asked for more perfect winter weather - sunny and in the upper 40's. The trail was in great condition. We hiked to the usual lunch spot and sat on rocks by the creek. To get to the creek you still have to crawl over trees that toppled a couple of years ago. If you go slightly above the usual place there is a better path down to the creek and you can walk on the bank back to the rocks for lunch. Going back to the trail head we ran into several mountain biking groups. This is a great winter hike with the variety of walking along an inlet to the reservoir and then in gorgeous old grown rain forest. The mushrooms and moss were spectacular.
