Description:

Sunrise hike! There will be a full moon and hopefully clear skies, so we can see stars as we walk through the dark forest. It's magical to take this same hike that we've done so many times and race the rising sun to the summit. Don't be late, as we'll need to leave on time and we don't want anyone walking alone in the dark.

If the stars align, there might be sunrise muffins at the summit.

Trip Report

We were so grateful that the forecasted rain failed to show. Instead, we watched a few clouds cross the full moon as we gathered in the darkness of the parking lot. It's always a thrill to hike through a dark forest along known trails with friends. Finding fawn lillies with flashlights - priceless!

Even though we didn't actually see a sunrise, the strawberry rhubarb muffins at the summit were pretty good. And the company, as usual, was outstanding. Couldn't believe that Gary showed up for his first Obsidian hike at 5 am!
