Meet at the main (paved) Spencer Butte parking lot.
Enjoy hiking up the main trail to Spencer Butte before it gets too hot. See the new paint job on the kiosk and a bench that Obsidians did last month.
Pace Is for conversation so probably almost moderate. There are some options if you want a longer hike.

Trip Report

Overcast with mist that for a few minutes must have been rain made for a pleasant morning hike up the main trail to the summit. We stopped for photos at the bench that the Obsidians painted on last month's trail maintenance. There wasn't much litter to pick up since Obsidians on hikes that week had already carried out plastic containers, dog bags, and paper. Out of town hikers shared positive comments about the trail and how clean it was. We met two hikers who plan to sign up for some of our hikes. Our meander was a friendly "Good Morning" change of pace.
