Description:

This outing offers varied backcountry terrain with excellent views of Three Fingered Jack, Mt. Washington, and the Three Sisters when the weather is clear. We’ll ascend a ridge leading to Three Fingered Jack then descend to Martin, Booth, and Square lakes before returning to the trailhead.

PLEASE NOTE. Participants must be comfortable using parallel or telemark techniques to descend steeper slopes. Contact the leader prior to the trip if you are uncertain about the skills required to safely enjoy this outing.

Drivers are sometimes in scarce supply for winter trips. If you can assist with transporting skiers, please indicate your availability. This will help ensure that everyone interested in the trip can participate.

Trip Report

Four skiers, three lakes, and a beautiful day. Climb, climb, climb, then descend, descend, descend. Repeat. Along the way visit Martin, Booth, and Square Lakes. 360-degree views of the Three Sisters, Broken Top, Mt. Washington, and Three Fingered Jack. Soft, forgiving snow that made tight turns possible and long downhill rides effortless. A group of skiers with varied life experiences all capable of giving TED Talks on wide-ranging topics (and some did). One of the best days on skis.
