Description:

Look for us by my car a row or two down from the fee box. Depending on weather, I plan to take the Incense Cedar Trail through the Arboretum and then back trails- 5, 56, 6- to the summit.
Mileage and elevation could vary depending on the weather (rain). At the summit, you may choose to head directly back to the parking lot or continue to the North Trailhead and walk back along the river.
If you don’t have a Lane County pass, allow time to purchase one with Debit/Credit card (no cash) at the pay station.

Trip Report

Starting on the Incense Cedar Trail, we gathered at the Rhoda Love Memorial Rock where Karen shared a few highlights of Love's biology classes. The drizzle ceased by the time we reached the muddy Trail 5/6 intersection to readjust our clothing. Then it was the "grunt' #6 hill as one hiker called it but it does have great views. Rewarded at the top with chocolate oatmeal treats, we headed off for North Trailhead to walk back along the river. The trip took around three hours and might have been 7 miles. The hike was so much fun especially explaining the trail system to those who had never hiked the back trails! Thanks to Lynn and Karen who led the way.
