Trip Report

We spent a wonderful day at the Lodge with a crowd of about 40 to celebrate Mother’s Day. The master of ceremonies, Jim Northrop, welcomed everyone and spotlighted all the mothers by giving them tasty Euphoria chocolates and a red rose. Jim was also the master pancake flipper and, with help from several folks from the Bus and Entertainment Committees, kept the blueberry pancakes, sausages, coffee, OJ and desserts flowing. Several long-time Obsidians who hadn't been to the Lodge for a while came for the event and had good conversations and nice reunions. After eating, a group of folks hiked down the Ribbon Trail to Hendricks Park Rhododendron Garden to see the rhodies and azaleas in bloom. Some stayed at the Lodge to visit longer and a few conversed while working on a puzzle. Happy Mother’s Day!
