We will depart Saturday evening, catch a little sleep at the trailhead, and get an early start on Sunday morning to beat the heat. While not a technical climb, it will involve similar fitness, planning, and packing for most of the other Oregon Cascade mountain. Some loose rock and semi-scramble at the top. This is the leader's first time climbing McLoughlin.

Trip Report

We got an early start to beat the heat and were glad we did. Some mosquitoes in the lower elevation kept us moving. There was a haze all day and we reported one smoke south of the mountain, but otherwise unaffected by the surrounding wildfires. This was the first time up McLoughlin for 3 of the 4 climbers which made the summit that much more rewarding. Great work by everyone!
