Description:

This trail has it all, sand, dunes, forest and beach. We start in the forest, then hike out to the beach crossing the dunes. We are on the beach for about a mile before crossing back over the deflation plane back on to the sand and up the dunes to a view of Three Mile Lake. Lunch probably around the lake view. After that it is a hike back throug the woods to the car. We may consider a stop in Old Town for coffee or ice cream what ever is needed.

Trip Report

The best thing about this trip was the Oregon like weather. Overcast skies, mid 60’s, misty and the amount of water in 3 Mile Lake. The sadness thing was finding 3 dead Muir’s on the beach. Everyone enjoyed lunch on the beach without freezing.
