Grizzly Peak

  • Start date: 07/11/2024

  • Start time: 8:00 AM

Description:

This hike starts at the popular Pamelia Lake trailhead so it requires a special limited entry permit plus a NW Forest Pass for parking. We'll have a 2700 foot gain to a great viewpoint. There is a $1 per person fee to cover the cost of the permit. If it's a hot day a swim in Pamelia Lake is a possibility. After the hike some of us will be stopping at Takoda's Restaurant.

Trip Report

This is a great hike to do on a warm day, as almost the entire trail is through a cool, shaded forest. Unlike the hike into Grizzly Peak two years ago, there was no snow on the trail, and the water level of Pamelia Lake is very low. The views from the summit however are still spectacular.
