Trip Report

What perfect weather we had for our slow hike around Clear Lake. The notable flowers were the little pink fragrant roses on the sunny side of the lake and the pipsissewa on the shady side of the lake. The most common bird calls we heard were the bald eagle chitterings and the Swainsons thrush making its ethereal calls. We saw 6 hooded mergansers swimming along the shoreline getting a boost by the gentle swell of the water. We lingered by the boat dock/store where some of us enjoyed a well earned ice cream after a great hike.
