Description:

Due to smoke I've changed the planned hike from No Name Lake to Iron Mountain as it's outside of the smoke area.
We'll start at the Tombstone Pass parking area and head east to Cone Peak and all the wildflower meadows. We'll continue to the Iron Mountain lookout for our lunch break. After our hike a stop at Takoda's is a real possibility.

Trip Report

This hike was originally intended to be to No Name Lake, but was changed to Iron Mountain the day before due to wildfire smoke moving over the Cascades. What we didn\'t know at the time is that another fire had just started north of Iron Mountain causing the entire area to be inundated with smoke. Still, we had a good hike with moderately smoky views of the Cascade mountains and the wildflowers a bit past their prime, but still beautiful. We can only hope that the skies will clear before the end of our hiking season, so we can enjoy Oregon\'s beautiful scenery.
