Mt. Pisgah Sunset/Moonrise

Description:

Moonrise is at 8:12pm and sunset is 8:49.pm . Full moon is July 21. Look for us by my car a row or two down from the
fee box. Depending on the temperature, the current plan is to take 7, “shady” 4 and 1. Optional: The shorter route of
#7 and #3 to the main trail. I chose this date so that we would not be walking down in the dark.

Trip Report

We appreciated any shade on our very warm hike to the summit to see the 8:12 moonrise. With the smoke to the east, we were not optimistic that we would have the patience to wait past 8:30 see if the moon rise above it. Two people stayed to see the moonrise while the rest of us saw the moon from our cars as we drove back to town. Steve Baker mailed his membership application before the hike.
