For this, our last outing of the year, we will continue/finish our project from October, clearing the drainages along the Tie Trail.

Meet at the main Spencer Butte Trailhead parking lot, the paved lot on Willamette.

Trip Report

For our last scheduled outing of 2024 we continued our project from October, clearing drainage along the Tie Trail. We met on a very cold morning and quickly grabbed tools to begin hiking to stay warm. We hiked nearly to the Ridgeline Trail on the Tie Trail to begin our work. We did this because the City staff had come out and removed the log that had fallen during the last icestorm and covered a drainage ditch. We then hiked back up to the upper section of the trail to pick up where we had left off in October. As the sun peaked through the clouds it warmed the ice on the trees which began raining down on us. We worked our way back to the Main Trail clearing ditches and culverts as we went. We finished up and returned to the main parking lot for juice and treats.<br />
