We will be meeting at the The Nature Conservancy gate located on the south side of W 18th and ~1000 ft west of S. Bartelson Road.

Obsidians will join other community volunteers in this Nature Conservancy project.
We will be focusing on removal of Eastern Red Cedar saplings. Stewardship activities will include lopping and hand cutting saplings that are encroaching into wet prairie meadows. Work will be held rain or shine. Expect to transverse areas that hold moisture seasonally and come prepared with your preferred rain gear. Identification of the target species will be reviewed on-site. Rain or shine 9AM - Noon.

Supplies and Equipment Required: Sturdy shoes/boots, layers of clothing for weather (raingear if needed), snacks and hydration. The Nature Conservancy will provide loppers and hand saws for the day’s event, gloves, a first aid kit (with Tecnu wipes for poison oak), and some snacks. Feel free to bring your own pair of hand tools and gloves.
