Description:

This is the nineth in a monthly series of cleanups of parks and other green spaces in the Eugene / Springfield area.
This time we will meet at the parking lot of South Eugene High School (parking lot west side of the building along the Amazon Creek). From there we'll walk south and clean along the Amazon Trail all the way to Pringle Grove park (Hilyard St. / Amazon Pkwy.). Similar way back.
Event is only 1.5 hours long (2.6 miles), so many people can participate.

Trip Report

Today, on a dry afternoon when temperature climbed to 92 F, ten Obsidians showed up for this month's "Be The Change" litter pick-up.
Our group did a great job cleaning the dusty grassy areas along the Amazon Trail. In addition to the usual trash, we also collected a lot of reminders of some tragic social behaviors.
Bad news at the end : Someone stole an electric-assist tricycle from one of our volunteers.
