Yoran Lake Loop

  • Start date: 09/14/2025

  • Start time: 7:00 AM

Description:

This is a hike with lots of beautiful lakes and views of Diamond Peak. Near the start of the hike, there is a log bridge without railing suspended fairly high over Trapper Creek. However, recently three of us scampered over it several times with no trouble. If you aren't comfortable with the bridge there is also a horse ford nearby, but the water is a bit deep and fast.

The trailhead is across the road from Shelter Cove Resort. We will follow Trapper Creek Trail for less than a mile during which we will use a log as a bridge over Trapper Creek. We will turn onto Yoran Lake Trail which takes us to our Yoran Lake lunch break. After lunch we continue past Lils Lake to arrive at the PCT. Following the PCT we arrive at Pengra Pass, turning one more time and continuing two more miles to complete the loop.
