Trip Report

On this outing, our last Saturday morning outing of our Fall through Spring schedule, the City asked us to work in Wild Iris Ridge Park to improve trail tread and drainage.

We tried meeting at the main trailhead on Bailey Hill Road but the small lot was packed. So, we switched gears and met up at the neighborhood connector trail on Bailey View Drive.

We hiked down the trail looking for Chocolate Lilies to no avail. We were able to admire Poison Oak in its varied forms as we went. When we reached the drainage ditches below the powerline corridor we began our work expertly avoiding the Poison Oak. We were able to work our way down to the drainage ditch above the bridges. We hiked back to Bailey View Drive to enjoy juice and treats as well as share Tecnu to prevent Poison Oak rashes for those of us unlucky enough to have interacted with it today.
Special thanks go to Clara for cutting back blackberries at the trailhead and to Janet for bringing scrumptious treats.
