Description:
Celebrate the first day of summer with a tour of some lovely waterfalls in close proximity to each other east of Cottage Grove. We'll start the day with a quick visit to Creswell Bakery for provisions, and then we'll drive to Spirit Falls, Pinard Falls and Moon Falls (all separate stops, with short but steep hikes to the falls). On the way back, we'll take a quick look at the beautiful but deadly Wildwood Falls, and then explore the 2-mile Swordfern Loop at Rujada Campground. I've rated this excursion as moderate rather than easy because although the distances are short with plenty of rest time while we drive to each waterfall, the trails are steep, rocky and often slippery. You must be sure-footed!
Creswell bakery has both sweet and savory treats, so you could plan to pick up your picnic lunch there, or maybe just a snack.
