Description:
Lets explore beautiful Old McKenzie Highway 242 with three stops and two hikes. Trail conditions could be interesting, participants must be prepared for anything from a little snow on the trails, to mosquitos.
First stop; Proxy Falls is 1.6 miles out and back. We’ll continue driving to the Scott Lake trailhead for a 5 mile hike and lunch at Tenas Lake. Last stop, a 10 min drive to the top of the pass to the Dee Wright Observatory for a stunning view of the Cascades. Some participants will stop at Takodas after.
Carpool: Limited parking along our route – the fewer cars the better. Suggested carpool donation: $15.50. Drivers need NW Forest Pass or National Park pass.
