Trip Report

We left Frog Camp at 9:15 a.m. and got to campsite at Arrowhead Lake 2:00 p.m. Warm and sunny day! Started climb of North at 6:00 a.m. Clouds were forming to the west as we reached the south ridge by 9:30 a.m. By 11:00 we were at the dinner plate with strong winds and fog. No sign of anyone crossing the snow so went above the snow to the north side, where a belay was set up to get over the last 50 feet down the snow. High wind and limited visibility as we entered the chute and reached the summit. Severe wind and 20-foot visibility as we made it down the chute and across the snow. By the time we reached camp the fog was so thick we had trouble finding camp at the lake. Warmed by the fire with rain and fog. Steady rain all night. Planned on climbing Middle Sister Monday morning, but packed up and headed for Frog Camp with fog and new snow on the mountain and rain in camp. Cars at noon and home early. Climbers were Aaron and Cliff BreMiller, Liz Igl, Bob, John and Rea Moffitt, Larry Pitcher & leader Lee Hatch. Not climbing were Ted Igl & Jeanne and Nate Rathbone.
