Trip Report

Fourteen Obsidians were at the Lodge for the Labor Day potluck with a bountiful dinner and plenty of conversation.

Ray Sims showed slides on a new Dalight screen - one trip from Green Lakes through the pass between the South and Middle Sisters, passing Chambers Lakes and out to the Skyline Trail by Obsidian Camp and up to Camp Scott; and Ray's last climb of the North Sister, making his 30th year as leader of the North; also the 1950 Summer Camp in the Grand Tetons and Yellowstone Park; blue Crater Lake in 1948 and white Crater Lake in 1949, when the lake was frozen over for the only time in history and there were 114 people in 3 large Greyhound busses.
