Trip Report

It was a seven hour stroll to the summit from Devil's Lake, including the most enjoyable ascent of the Red Ridge I've ever had - good conversation, good company, and a leisurely pace removed all the agony.

We ate a cold snack at the summit, then camped in the open using already existing windbreaks. Clear, cold night was streaked with meteors of the Perseid Shower. Lee descended to Green Lakes to climb a second time the next morning with Henrietta Richmond's group, who rudely awakened the leader at 10 a.m.

Climbers included Tim Cook, Lee Hatch, Sam Miller, Gene Thaxton and Bert Ewing, leader.
