Trip Report

Once again, this proved to be the ideal weekend of the year for climbing. After a balmy night at the trailhead, 8 members and 7 nonmembers started from the 5600 ft. level toward the 9495 ft. summit. All but 3 in the party made the summit within 4½ hours in a light breeze that kept the temperature very comfortable. Mt. Shasta was visible and beautiful through a light haze. After a leisurely lunch on top, we were back at the cars by 3:30 p.m.

On the summit were Richard Eden, Dick Hildreth, Doug and Peggy John, Carole Kompanik, Glenn Meares, Dale Mills, Dave Predeek, Wes Prouty (leader), Henrietta Richmond, Tony Smith, and Robin Steussy. Emmy Dale and Harlo and Marty Perrin went to the ridge below the summit.
