Trip Report

Without one no show, one to be met at Frog Camp and one to be met at campsite we left town with a huge party of two. After meeting Larry at Frog Camp, we made the three hour hike to Arrowhead Lake at 5:30 p.m. After resting, eating and taking in the beauty of the mountains, we kept a lookout for a gentleman from Corvallis who was to meet us "before dark." At 9:00 p.m. we gave up and called it a day, only to be awakened at 10:30, with a bright full moon shining, by our "before dark" friend.

We started to North Sister at 5:00 a.m. and crossed the snow traverse, and were on the summit by 11:00 a.m. By noon we recrossed the snow and were on our way down the ridge and headed for Middle Sister. Two small patches of snow before the top were no problem and we were there about 3:30 p.m. Back at camp we were met by Anne Montgomery and Paula Vehrs. Thanks for the trip to the spring! Climbers were John Specht, Larry Tucker, Glenn Meares and leader Lee Hatch.
