Trip Report

We left camp one mile south of Obsidian Falls on this attempt to climb the Three Sisters in one day. Starting at 2:00 a.m. we were at what is usually the snow traverse at 7:00 a.m. and crossed the bare rocks and to the summit at 7:30. After a short rest we were down the south ridge, across Collier Glacier and atop the Middle Sister at 10:00 a.m. After getting to the base of South Sister we could find no suitable route up the northwest side so returned to camp. Returned to Frog Camp cross-country from Obsidian Camp to Spring Lake and back to Obsidian Trail to cars at 3:30 p.m. Sunday. Two peak climbers were Margaret Crosland, Frank Moore, Lee Hatch and leader Keith Blunck.
