PLEASE MAKE SURE THAT YOU GO ON THE WILLAMALANE WEBSITE AND REGISTER FOR THIS ACTIVITY. Join Willamette Riverkeeper and Willamalane Parks and Recreation District as we get dirty for GOOD during our Great Willamette Clean Up Series as we sweep Springfield's Willamette riverfronts of trash. Meet at the Willamalane Adult Activity Center at 9am. Please be on time - we will break into groups after safety talk and cleanup gear is distributed.

Trip Report

Seven Obsidians joined 10 others on a beautiful fall day to help clean up the banks of the Willamette River. The cleanup was run through Willamalane Parks and Recreation in partnership with Willamette River Keepers. We roved up and down the riverbanks from the Community Center on C Street all the way down to the I-5 bridge picking up various and sundry items left behind by homeless campers as well as other users of the bike paths and parks areas. It was a great excuse to be outdoors and get a little exercise as well as feel that we were contributing to the health and welfare of our river that we all enjoy so much.
