Description:
Obsidians volunteers will join others and work in coordination with the Coast Fork Willamette Watershed Council to build a new community garden center in Cottage Grove. The work will include cleaning old garden structures, moving flower beds, soil, etc. All tools will be provided, so only your enthusiasm and the will to do the work in, for now, unknown weather conditions are required.
At the first work party we got a lot accomplished and the temporary fence was fully set-up shortly after you all left. We would not have gotten this far without your help. The breakdown of the previous garden site will be an ongoing project, as will be setting 71 lineposts for the permanent fence, installing the fencing wire, and then of course organizing the garden (spreading compost, marking plots, building infrastructure (sheds, tables, raised beds).
Please support program of Huerto de la Familia , now a part of a nonprofit called Plaza de Nuestra Comunidad.
The volunteers need to park in the lot off of R Street which can be accessed from River Road to Harrison Ave.
