Description:

We begin with views from above and below of 20' Alsea Falls, then hike 1.3 miles to 60' Green Peak Falls. Returning by the same path, we finish our hike with a 2.4 mile clockwise loop along Side Winder Trail and Buckhorn Trail, ending at a picnic area and the parking lot. Be prepared for rain, mud, and some slippery spots along the trails.

Trip Report

Sunny skies, no wind, and temperatures in the low 40s made for perfect fall hiking conditions. Twelve hikers enjoyed views of Alsea Falls and Green Peak Falls, along with the beauty of Hemlocks, Douglas Firs, and the golden leaves of a couple of varieties of Maples. After the hike, we had lunch at two picnic tables near the trail head. It was a very enjoyable outing!
